PRODUCTIONS

Each SWTEP production begins with a proposition and its own protocol.

The record below documents the situations created, the people who entered them, and what emerged.

PROD 01

SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY

KAF Gallery · Beirut
April–May 2019

Participants
Fadi Elchamaa
Semaan Khawam
Ghylan Safadi

Three artists shared a public studio for 21 days, working side by side under equal conditions.

The first SWTEP proposition was simple: work with the enemy rather than remove them.

Participants

Collaborators
Lea Skayem · video

Two artists went offline and shared a studio for 21 days.

Withdrawal from the outside became the condition through which proximity, distance, and collaboration were tested.

PROD 05

HEY YOU · يا أيها

Beirut
December 2022

Artists with distinct practices and visual languages were brought into one collective situation rather than organized around a common aesthetic.

Daily poetry readings introduced another form of presence: the relationship between what we see and what we say.

Painting, masks, music, performance, and participation became one shared production.

PROD 07

UNTIL PEACE

Initiated September 2024

Participants
Fadi Elchamaa
Amer Chamaa

A continuous collaborative painting initiated under one condition:

the work continues until peace in the Levant.

The duration is determined not by the artists, but by the condition itself.

NOTE
SWTEP records productions as evidence of what occurred.

The archive does not attempt to resolve the disagreements, negotiations, failures, accidents, or relationships that produced them.

Those remain part of the work.
